INTRODUCTION

Peekaboo is a dice poker game in which each player is trying to build the best dice combination they can in order to win.  Each player has two peekers (hidden dice) and three lookers (dice that can be seen), so players are able to bluff their way to victory.

MATERIALS & SETUP

Each player needs five 6-sided dice, a cup, and the same number of chips to begin the game.  If possible, each player’s peekers should be a different color from their lookers.  Everyone rolls one die to determine who begins the round.  Highest number rolled goes first.

PLAY

The first player decides the ante for the round.  The other players must match the ante if they wish to play.

ROLLING THE PEEKERS
Using their cups, all players roll their peekers and keep those two dice covered.  Peekers cannot be rolled again until the next round.

ROLLING THE LOOKERS
Starting with the first player and then continuing left around the table, each player gets to roll their lookers no more than three times to build the best poker dice combination possible.

The first player rolls all three of his lookers.  He may keep as many as he wants before rolling the rest for a second time.  If the player likes all three of the dice, he can keep them and end his turn.  If he doesn’t like any of them, he may roll them all again.  Continue this for no more than two more rolls or until all of the dice have been kept.

Next, the second player takes her turn.  She gets three rolls to build the best poker dice combination that she can.  Play like this continues until the final person has completed his turn.

The showdown

The first player begins the showdown with a check, raise, or fold.  If he raises the bet, each player meets the bet, raises the bet, or folds in consecutive order.  Each player gets one opportunity to check, raise, or fold before rolls are revealed.

Once betting is complete, the players that have not folded reveal their peekers and compare their five dice combinations.

DICE COMBO RANKING
(HIGH)
Five of a Kind ⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀
Four of a Kind ⚂⚂⚂⚂
Full House ⚁⚁⚁ ⚃⚃
Straight ⚀⚁⚂⚃⚄
Three of a Kind ⚅⚅⚅
Two Pair ⚃⚃ ⚂⚂
Pair ⚀⚀
Hot Garbage ⚅⚃⚂⚁⚀
(LOW)

The player with the highest ranking combination wins the pot.  If two or more players have the same combination type, the higher number wins.  For example, ⚅⚅⚅ beats ⚁⚁⚁.  If more than one player has the exact same roll, the tie is broken by the next highest die.  For example, if player 1 has ⚅⚅⚅ ⚂⚁, and player 2 has ⚅⚅⚅ ⚂⚃, player 2 wins because the ⚃ beats the ⚂. If there is a perfect tie, the pot is split.

WIN

After chips have been collected by the winner, the next round begins.  The first roll passes left from the previous player.  Continue playing until the agreed upon number of rounds is completed.  Players who run out of chips are out of the game unless they buy back in.
